Cellular Renewal Masque by Arbonne International

Cellular renewal Masque

Arbonne International's Cellular Renewal Masque is probably one of my favourite skincare products ever, ever, ever! For me, the masque has a whole multitude of uses.The product description on Arbonne's website says;

"Enhanced formula with gentle cellular exfoliation visibly improves skin tone and texture, minimises the appearance of pores, and provides skin with an immediate, radiant glow"

The masque's ingredients include pineapple, salicylic acid and glycolic acid to name a few.
Ingredients such as these are a massive asset in assisting the slowing of the anti ageing process, diminishing acne scarring and improving the skins overall texture.

Enzymes in pineapple will fight any acne scarring and also cleanse the skin by dissolving blackheads and dead cells from the skin’s surface. This also unclogs pores and prevents  spots. Glycolic acid works similarly, it is part of a group of active compounds that are derived from a sugar cane, known as AHA's (alpha hydroxy acids). Glycolic acid has the smallest molecules from the group, enabling it to penetrate the skin deeply and easily, making it most effective for problems such as fine lines and wrinkles.

The masque is not like a standard face mask, it is transparent on application and works like a natural chemical peel but is available for only a fraction of the price. I found my skin went red and slightly warm on the first few applications, this is completely normal for this type of masque. Instructions on the box state the following;

"Use 1–2 times per week at night. After cleansing and drying skin, smooth a generous layer of masque over face, avoiding eyelids or getting into eyes. Leave masque on for 5–7 minutes. Slight transient tingling or redness may be experienced and is normal for a masque of this type. If irritation occurs, stop use immediately and consult a dermatologist. Rinse with tepid water or use a warm washcloth. Pat dry and follow with serum and night crème".

Personally, I have found it's helped significantly with fading old acne scarring as well as making my skin baby soft and bright. I have recommended the masque to several others and they have been absolutely blown away with the extent to which it has helped with fine lines and wrinkles.

Another thing I love about Arbonne's products is the fact that they're completely Vegan certified, cruelty free and  they're also free from any nasties such as parabens.

The Cellular Renewal Masque retails at £52, so not the cheapest thing on the planet, but it does work, and personally I don't mind paying that little bit extra if I know it's going to deliver results.

The Beautiful Skin Guide

The Beautiful Skin Guide

Having bad skin can come down to a whole multitude of causes. A large amount of causes are hormonal and hereditary, which can be a bit more tricky to resolve. However the vast majority can be tweaks to diet and lifestyle, which i'm about to share with you.

There are a crazy amount of products, procedures and supplements that claim to transform your skin, however, often it is bringing it back down to basics that will benefit your skin the most.

Here are my 5 top tips to having better skin, whether your concern is spots, dry skin, oily skin, wrinkles or dullness.

5 STEPS TO BETTER YOUR SKIN

 Increase your water consumption

Drinking a good amount of water every day is essential for overall good health, but it is also really important for great skin. Our skin is our biggest organ, which is of course made up of cells, which are made up of water. Without enough water, our skin, like our other organs, won't perform at it's best.

If you feel like you're constantly putting on copious amounts of moisturiser/oils and not seeing any good results, drinking more water every day could improve your skins overall condition. If your skin doesn't receive a good amount of water daily, dehydration will make your skin look more dry and wrinkled.

As for spots, i'm not saying drinking more water will get rid of any acne you may have, but it certainly will help battle it. Water will help flush out any bad toxins, meaning less bad bacteria in your body. The NHS advise you should consume about eight glasses of 200ml water each day for a woman, and 10 glasses of 200ml each for a man.  This doesn't have to be pure water, fruit juices and tea can help too :)

Consume more foods rich in Beta-Carotene

Foods that contain Beta-Carotene include carrots, sweet potato, kale, spinach, apricots, peas, squash and peppers, it is basically most things dark green or vibrant orange in colour. Our bodies convert beta-carotene into vitamin A, vitamin A  encourages great skin, by consuming these foods on a regular basis, your skin will naturally give off a healthy glow.

Not only is beta-carotene great for your skin, it is also great for a good immune system and great eyesight. So an all round good thing to add into your diet!

Get more SLEEP

I know, 'easier said than done' I hear you say! Whether it's your darling children or something on Netflix keeping you up, we could all do with that extra hour or two in bed.

When we're sleeping, our bodies are recovering, fighting any inflamed cells in our bodies.

More sleep can encourage the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid (this hydrates our skin), the molecules that give our skin its glow, bounce, and translucency.

Not having enough sleep is directly linked to an acceleration of the ageing process. When you're skipping on a good nights sleep, your body releases more of a hormone named Cortisol. Increased levels of cortisol can lead to the breakdown of collagen, which makes your skin more supple and bouncy.

Getting your beauty sleep isn’t an old cliché — it’s a must for having skin that glows.

Have a good skin care routine

While face wipes have revolutionised the way we remove makeup, what can seem like a mammoth task at 10pm is made quick and easy. However, are face wipes that good for our skin?!

Recent research has shown that some brands are soaking their wipes in chemicals that are also present in anti-freeze. This isn't good news for the lazy girl! In addition to that, ingredients such as parabens, which are massively linked to cancer, have been found in the chemical cocktail that is coated in some face wipes.
Plus, makeup wipes don't remove all of our makeup properly. There is an unbelievable amount of bacteria, dirt, sweat and general nastiness that builds up on your face each day, it is impossible that one wipe will remove all of this.

Have a go at the traditional cleanse, tone, moisturise (I will do another blog of my recommendations) , it may seem like a complete chore every night, but your older, wiser self will most likely thank you for it.

I can guarantee, your face will feel much fresher and more toned, therefore making your skin even more beautiful.

Treat your skin

Invest into your skin! As i've said, your skin is your BIGGEST organ, give it the care it deserves! When you think of all the money you spend on total crap each month (horrible thought, I know), you probably could spend that money on something that could potentially help your skin more than any of the above.
Being a makeup artist, it's a given that I'm a complete product junky, and i'm afraid to say most of the time, it is 'you get what you pay for' with skincare products. Next time you pick up a bargain product, take a look at the ingredients on the back, you might find yourself shocked!

So think 'YOLO' and give yourself a treat ;)

I hope you've found this post helpful!

Review | Charlotte Tilbury Makeup

Charlotte Tilbury Makeup Review.

Ok, to say I'm obsessed with this makeup range is a massive understatement.
For those who aren't familiar, Charlotte Tilbury is one of the Britain's biggest and best makeup artists. Tilbury has worked on some of the world's biggest supermodels such as Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell,Gisele Bundchen as well as on campaigns such as Tom Ford, Michael Kors and more.

Thanks to her wealth of experience and product knowledge, she has gifted the world with a fantastically beautiful product range.

Charlotte's range exudes an ultra premium impact in every which way. The packaging, the colours and the actual makeup itself are all stellar.

For this look I have used:

Wonder Glow - Instant Soft Focus Beauty Flash
Bar of Gold Highlighter
Lip Cheat liner in Pillow Talk (all over the lips)
The Feline Flick liquid eyeliner
Rock 'n' Kohl liquid eyeliner pencil in 'Bedroom Black'
The Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette (champagne colour)

Eyelashes are by Eylure.

My favourites from this selection have to be Wonder Glow, Rock 'n' Kohl & The Feline Flick eyeliners.

Wonder Glow

Wonder Glow is a little bottle of miracle for those dull face days. It leaves your face looking glowy and ever so slightly iridescent but not too much for it to be overpowering. It works fantastically underneath foundation as a primer or over the top for an extra glow.

The Feline Flick

The Feline Flick is a liquid eyeliner, and in my opinion one of the best liquid liners i've ever come across. For those who struggle to achieve a perfect cat eye flick(or any flick at all),this may well be your saving grace. So far for me it's been extremely durable and smudge proof, but most importantly the tip is shaped like an extremely fine felt tip, making it almost fool proof to use.
Perhaps not as cheap as most people would like, however worth every penny in my opinion.

Rock 'n' Kohl liquid eyeliner pencil in 'bedroom black'

Charlotte Tilbury says  this pencil should be used to create the "ultimate rock chick “bedroom eyes” and are basically a no-nonsense liquid eye pencil that glide on like a liquid liner but have the rich pigment of an eye-kohl,”
This eyeliner is so long wearing it's crazy, especially in the waterline! It stayed put in my waterline for around 4-5 hours without the need for topping up. It doesn't smudge or budge and is the perfect eyeliner for creating that ultra smokey eye.
The pencil does set very quickly, so be quick if you're planning to smudge it out with a brush. Having said that, I found less smudging was needed as the pencil applies pretty perfectly anyway.

Charlotte Tilbury's range is available to buy at Selfridges or directly from Charlotte Tilbury's website.
